    Operations Supervisor Food Supply Chain

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Are you a passionate people manager with experience overseeing key customer accounts?

    We have an exciting opportunity at NSF for an Operations Supervisor, to join our team in Stellenbosch! In this role you will be responsible for the day-today running of Agriculture Certification operations for Africa. Leading a medium sized team of coordinators, you will support and guide them, to ensure top level service for our clients, whilst creating process improvements, and ensuring accurate financials. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    IncludIng, but are not limited to:

    • Be the point-of-contact for the day-to-day running of the Agriculture Certification operation
    • Work closely with Audit Delivery to ensure that clients have a seamless experience and that audits are scheduled optimally
    • Champion excellent customer service and set the team up for success
    • Establish goals for your team members that are in line with the business objectives and scheme requirements
    • Put in place a training and development plan for each team member and have regular one-on-ones to monitor progress and give constructive performance feedback
    • Work closely with IT to identify and implement process improvements and ensure that all processes are correctly mapped out
    • Work closely with HR on all recruitment and employee matters
    • Manage leave schedules to ensure that the team is adequately staffed
    • Maintain financial control, by ensuring that customers are quoted and invoiced accurately, and that the monthly accrual is completed accurately too
    • Complete monthly revenue forecasts and compare these against actual results for accuracy
    • Monitor progress using Power BI reports, net promoter score, and employee engagement survey, and act based on data

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous people management experience, and the soft skills to effectively manage the team
    • Knowledge of the testing, inspection, and consulting industry is a huge plus.
    • Experience with client services, financials, processes, systems, and data
    • A positive, can-do attitude
    • Demonstrate an empathetic approach to your colleagues and clients
    • An efficient and effective communicator
    • Able to work within strict certification turnaround times 
    • Great problem solving skills
    • Ability to be proactive and autonomous 
    • Great attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
    • Ability to tailor approach according to the needs of clients and colleagues
    • Ability to take accountability and ownership of your team’s development, as well as your own
