OTR Repair Technician at Bridgestone South Africa (Pty) Ltd

Job Purpose

• You will be required to provide expert services related to the inspection, maintenance, repair, and replacement of tyres for various types of vehicles as part of your role with Otraco Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd. This position ensures that tyres are in optimal condition, contributing to the safety, performance, and efficiency of vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with Otraco Management system (OMS) policies and instructions.
• Perform inspections and determine if tyres should be scrapped, repaired or remain in service.
• Operate machinery and equipment according to procedures.
• Perform repairs to tyre and tubes according to procedures.
• Operate forklifts and tyre handlers according to procedures.
• Present yourself in a condition fit to perform your duties.
• Ensuring that all equipment is maintained and in good working order by conducting daily maintenance and coordinating repair work as required.
• Ensure that all work is completed in a safe and efficient manner as per the job priorities outlined by the customer.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation of service work performed.
• Complete any other duties as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education and other certification:

• Grade 12 National Senior Certificate.
• A valid driver’s license.
• A valid OTR Repair Technician Certificate.

Experience (years):

• Previous experience as an OTR Repair Technician (+5 years preferred).

Skills:

• Knowledge of different types, specifications, and repair techniques.
• Ability to use tools and equipment such as tyre changers, balancers, and alignment machines.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities
