Overhead Power Line Design Engineer - (ENG-L6.92) at Zutari

Key technical requirements: 

• PLS-CADD Profiling: Proficient in using PLS-CADD for overhead line design and profiling. 
• PLS-Pole Monopole Design: Expertise in designing monopole structures using PLS-Pole. 
• PLS-Tower Lattice Tower Design (advantageous): Skilled in designing lattice towers with PLS-Tower. 
• Overhead Line Specification Compilation: Ability to compile detailed specifications for overhead lines. 
• Report Writing: Strong report writing skills to document design processes and project outcomes. 
• BOMs, Reports, and Engineering Calculations: Competence in compiling Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering reports, and performing detailed calculations. 
• Data Extraction and Compilation: Experience in extracting and compiling data such as sag & tension charts and staking tables. 
• Overhead Power Line Design Principles: Deep understanding of the principles governing overhead power line design. 
• Foundation and Tower Load Pairing: Knowledge of pairing foundations with tower loads to ensure structural integrity. 
• Hardware Selection and Specification: Ability to select appropriate hardware and define technical specifications. 
• Standards Interpretation and Excel Calculations: Proficiency in interpreting standards and implementing calculation formulas in Excel. 

Beneficial technical requirements: 

• CAD drawing ability advantageous (Autocad or microstation) 
• Construction experience on the implementation of OHLs 
• Conductor optimisation analysis 
• Project management skills including schedules in MS Projects. 

Requirements: 

• B.Eng or B.Sc or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering 
• 5 years relevant overhead line design experience in voltage levels up to 400kV 
• Excel, Word 
• PLS-CADD experience 
• Basic Microstation / Autocad skills 
• Wide range of general knowledge of electrical engineering
