Duties and Responsibilities:

• To safely and efficiently carry out filling, labelling, packing, inspection and palletising activities within the production facility, ensuring that all products meet quality standards, customer requirements, and company specifications. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, quality, housekeeping, and productivity while contributing to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities
Production and Packing Operations

• Perform filling, labelling, packing, sealing and palletising activities according to approved work instructions.
• Ensure products are packed correctly and meet customer and company specifications.
• Verify product codes, batch numbers, labels and packaging materials before use.
• Operate packing line equipment and pallet wrapping machines safely and efficiently.
• Meet daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
• Assist with changeovers, line clearances and production start-ups as required.
• Ensure accurate completion of production and packing records.

Quality Responsibilities

• Conduct visual quality inspections on products and packaging materials.
• Identify and segregate defective, damaged or non-conforming products.
• Report quality deviations, defects and out-of-specification conditions immediately to the Supervisor or Quality team.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures at all times.
• Maintain traceability by ensuring correct batch identification and documentation.
• Support quality investigations and corrective actions when required.

Safety, Health and Environmental Responsibilities

• Comply with all company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) policies and procedures.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents and near misses immediately.
• Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks and training programmes.
• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Follow safe operating procedures when handling equipment, materials and products.
• Assist in maintaining environmental compliance by minimising waste and following waste disposal procedures.

Teamwork and Continuous Improvement

• Work effectively as part of a production team.
• Support colleagues to ensure smooth production operations.
• Contribute ideas for improving safety, quality, efficiency and productivity.
• Participate in training and skills development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to read, understand and complete production documentation.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of production and packing processes.
• Basic knowledge of quality inspection techniques.
• Awareness of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ability to follow written procedures and work instructions.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production targets.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Experience

• Previous experience in a manufacturing, production or packing environment will be advantageous.
• Experience working within cosmetic  and manufacturing environments will be beneficial.
