    Payroll & Benefits Associate

    We Do The Right Things - Responsibilities of the Role

    • To collate and manage all monthly, tactical payroll and benefit reporting tasks within the required ‘cut off’ periods for all global locations, whilst working in close collaboration with various stakeholders and global payroll and benefits providers.
    • To ensure all payroll and benefit processing, including the quarterly KPO and commission awards, is 100% accurate and that absolute attention to detail is on point to recognize errors early and rectify them.
    • To manage all first line, pay and benefit enquiries and resolve queries within an acceptable timeframe
    • To remain connected to all our global payroll and benefit providers to ensure Clickatell remains abreast of legislative and system changes, and manage any communications required.
    • To identify process improvements by flagging recurring issues, process delays and quality problems.
    • To work in collaboration with the HR Operations Partner, HR Operations Team Lead and the payroll and benefit providers to ensure a succinct and thorough US open enrolment benefit process is administered.
    • Process statutory compliance and reporting like StatsSA, COIDA, etc.
    • Managing annual and bi-annual tax submissions process.
    • Own and manage all administrative documentation for pay and benefit related matters throughout the employee lifecycle including onboarding and exiting of employees.
    • Communicate and liaise with 3rd party service providers all change requests.
    • Manage the monthly reconciliation of benefits deductions, payments to 3rd party service providers and all other salary related transactions.
    • Document and maintain administrative procedures for all benefit processes.
    • Coordinate daily benefit processing.
    • Maintain various group benefit datasheets and update payroll records.
    • Gather employee data from the HR Operations Associate and oversee the processing of monthly billings.
    • Coordinate benefits liaison management meetings with external providers.
    • To take ownership of the leave management systems working in collaboration with all the payroll and benefit providers, to ensure quarterly sickness absence and annual leave / PTO reconciliation reports are issued to line managers and accurate data is maintained within the various systems.
    • Assist with various reports needed.
    • Attend to any queries with regards to annual audits.
    • Manage the maternity benefits processes and assist with the completion of UIF and other documents required.

    Requirements

    We Are On A Learning Journey - Requirements of the Role

    • Grade 12
    • Relevant qualification in Human Resource Management
    • Work Experience
      • 2+ years' experience in Payroll would be an indication of the level of skills needed
      • Sage Payroll experience will be advantageous but not a requirement
      • Experience working with external payroll and benefits providers
      • Experience with processing payroll across other geographical areas (ie. USA, Canada and Nigeria will be advantageous)
    • Knowledge and Abilities
      • Knowledge and experience of PAYE and statutory compliance and understanding of employee benefits.
      • Knowledge of labour Legislation, specifically Skills Development, Employment Equity and BCEA, and Tax regulations as it relates to remuneration practices.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion
      • Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure to adhere to deadlines
      • Computer literacy with proficiency in the MS Office suite, especially MS Excel Advance
      • Strong coordination skills – multitasking as a passion!
      • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail
      • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
