    Performance Division Sales Manager

    Description

    • This role entails leading the Performance Division Team for Ad Dynamo in Africa.
    • The Performance division is in play to be the leading authority on digital performance marketing - the division will look after all performance products (current and future) in the Ad Dynamo stable. To name a few but not limited to, Verizon Media Native and Programmatic DSP, Spotify Programmatic SSP, Twitter DR and MAP and a new platform soon to be signed on.
    • You will be required to hit sales targets. It also requires overseeing the team and dealing with clients day to day. You will be required to evangelize our offering externally and internally. Furthermore, you will oversee all Partner communications where necessary.
    • It also includes working with the broader Ad Dynamo sales organization to develop effective go-to-market models and best practices.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Be required to hit revenue targets - targets are a defined quarterly quota established for revenue earned from ad serving and other services
    • Lead a high-performing team by recruiting excellent talent, retaining and rewarding existing talent, managing resources efficiently, and demonstrating great leadership
    • Be the client facing leader for the Performance Division
    • Provide thought leadership within the industry as it relates to ad serving platforms and the use of data to improve marketing efficiency
    • Advise sales and product management regarding market opportunities, sales positioning, use of resources and strategic planning
    • Act as an online advertising expert and evangelist for Twitter promoted products
    • Provide deep knowledge and insights to drive creative and long term improvements to our overall platform offering
    • Own quarterly regional sales forecasts, planning and budgeting
    • Actively coach, develop and lead their team and act as a sales leader for the broader team

    Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications - do not apply if you do not meet multiple criteria below:

    • Successful University Degree or equivalent - with a major in marketing.
    • Minimum of 10 years in the technical/performance/programmatic sphere of the digital industry
    • Digital marketing technical conversion course/post grad diploma recommended.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in advertising digital media sales
    • Minimum 5 years experience in sales management or a leadership role

    Preferred Capabilities:

    • A deep understanding of the online advertising industry with a focus on the tools and technologies that enable ad serving
    • A strong relationship network on the digital industry
    • At least 3-5 years proven direct sales experience in digital media with a strong foundation in technology, or in technology sales with a strong foundation in digital media
    • Experience with partner/agency/alliance management, business development and negotiations
    • Experience with direct advertiser sales, including negotiations and management of strategic partnerships
    • Proven experience setting up and growing an advertising sales team and successfully building and growing advertising sales revenue
    • Able to develop comprehensive forward-looking plans and execute against them with both strategic and tactical initiatives
    • Experienced people manager with a track record of building and contributing to high performing teams
    • Team player with a positive and dynamic personality
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Strong planning and organizational capabilities
    • Ability to travel
