    Pharmacist Assistant X 2 (Roving) - 6 positions

    Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Drive and fortify pharmacovigilance plans and processes within the DOH TB program.
    • Elevate adverse event documentation both in clinical patient stationery and on EDR.
    • Undertake thorough clinical audits to maintain high-quality healthcare services.
    • Optimise the procedures for adverse drug event reporting.
    • Execute pharmacy evaluations and devise Quality Improvement Plans (QIPs).
    • Champion the inclusion of pharmacovigilance topics in key discussions and forums.
    • Deliver monthly program activity reports to the Project Pharmacist.
    • Monitor adherence to SVS processes and guarantee monthly reporting from PHCs.
    • Mentor and support facilities in principles of stock management and Rx Solutions.
    • Assist with CCMDD-related tasks and ensure compliance with its SOPs.
    • Maintain statistical data and oversee stock management.
    • Get ready for periodic audits and quality assessments by the Project Pharmacist.
    • Forge and nurture strategic alliances with pertinent partners within the region.
    • Coordinate effectively with District Medicines Liaison Officers and other vital stakeholders to ensure cohesive program roll-out and feedback.
    • Deliver pharmaceutical guidance and expertise to the districts.
    • Convene regular discussions with team members to review the progress of pharmacovigilance initiatives.
    • Participate actively in relevant stakeholder engagements.
    • Oversee pharmacy-focused training and skills enhancement initiatives within the region.
    • Guide staff on pharmaceutical topics, particularly pharmacovigilance.
    • Mentor and assist down referral facility members on foundational pharmaceutical practices and related activities.


    Requirements:

    • Pharmacist Assistant qualification.
    • Active registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Qualified Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant.
    • Desired completion of a course in pharmacovigilance.
    • Proficient knowledge of Rx Solutions and SVS an advantage.
    • A minimum of 3 years' professional experience in the Department of Health or within the NGO sector.
    • Familiarity with South African health and pharmaceutical services.
    • Understanding of Good Pharmacy Practice and adherence to legislative guidelines.
    • Prior experience in the public sector, preferably within the TB field.
    • Exposure to Drug-Resistant TB Management.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the National Drug Policy and pertinent Acts concerning medicine supply management, effective use of medicines, and patient care.
    • Demonstrated ability to operate and navigate various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or equivalent.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and feedback.
    • Detail-oriented approach to work, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
    • Valid driver's license will be an added advantage.
