    PHS, Priority Populations Team Lead - Employees of Mission

    Duties

    • Under the direct supervision of the Branch Chief, HIV Prevention Branch, incumbent is the lead for the HIV Priority Populations Team, a Senior Project Manager and the key Public Health Advisor on HIV Priority Populations (including DREAMS) Program.
    • Incumbent provides comprehensive public health technical, administrative and managerial advice and assistance in support of priority populations prevention and relevant cross-cutting activities provided under the President’s Emergency Plan f or AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
    • Responsibilities include day-to-day program management and development, monitoring, reporting and close collaboration with PEPFAR partners.
    • Partners include other PEPFAR agencies, host government ministries, Global Fund, International Organizations (IO) and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) involved in treatment of HIV/AIDS in country.
    • Incumbent is the senior program advisor and program contact to the South Africa National Department of Health (NDOH), external partners and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in the development and implementation of Adolescent and Youth program strategies, activities, and studies.
    • The position supervises 1 full-time Priority Populations Team Locally Employed Staff.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Requirements:
    EXPERIENCE: 

    • Five years of mid-to-senior level public health experience developing, implementing and evaluating HIV/AIDS programs or other relevant HIV public health programs that involve coordination with an international agency or implementing partner is required.
    • At least 6 months to one year of supervisory experience is required.
    • Education Requirements:
    • Master’s level degree or host country equivalent in public health, medicine, epidemiology, health policy, or behavioral science is required.

    Evaluations:

    • LANGUAGE: Fluent in English speaking, reading and writing. This may include the ability to translate.
