Picker with Scanner at Phakisa Group

JOB PURPOSE

• To accurately pick, scan, check, and prepare stock for dispatch according to customer orders while maintaining high levels of accuracy, productivity, and safety.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pick stock according to picking lists or scanner instructions.
• Operate handheld barcode/RF scanners to scan and confirm products.
• Verify product codes, quantities, and descriptions before dispatch.
• Pack and place picked items in the correct bins, cages, pallets, or designated areas.
• Report damaged, missing, or incorrect stock to the Supervisor.
• Assist with loading and unloading of stock when required.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working area.
• Follow warehouse procedures, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
• Meet daily picking, scanning, and productivity targets.
• Perform other general warehouse duties as instructed by the Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12 / Matric preferred.
• Previous warehouse, picking, packing, or distribution experience advantageous.
• Experience using a barcode/RF scanner advantageous.
• Basic reading, writing, and numeracy skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and move stock when required.
• Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and public holidays when required.
• Clear criminal record, where required by the client.
• Must reside in or around Alexandra, Tembisa, or surrounding areas.
