    Principal Professional Officer

    Requirements

    • BEng, BSc Engineering, BTech Engineering, or equivalent degree qualification in the Engineering/Built Environment field.
    • Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr Tech Eng or Pr Eng.
    • 8 to 10 years' relevant experience gained after obtaining the first relevant tertiary qualification.
    • Extensive experience managing projects ranging from approximately R40 million to R150 million and above.
    • Proven experience in capital project planning, implementation, contract management and engineering management.
    • Sound knowledge of: Municipal infrastructure development processes; Project and programme management methodologies; Contract administration and construction management; Environmental and waste management legislation.
    • Valid driver's license.

    Key Performance Areas

    • Develop and implement infrastructure provision plans.
    • Lead feasibility studies and infrastructure planning initiatives
    • Support long-term infrastructure and capital investment planning.
    • Manage site identification, acquisition, zoning, permitting, and environmental approval processes.
    • Develop project implementation plans, budgets, cash flows, and schedules.
    • Prepare project briefs and specifications.
    • Manage consultant procurement and appointment processes.
    • Lead the execution and commissioning of capital infrastructure projects.
    • Monitor construction quality, budget expenditure, timelines, safety, and environmental compliance.
    • Manage project risks and address implementation challenges.
    • Contract Management and Advisory Services
    • Stakeholder Liaison and Engagement
    • Evaluate innovative technologies and infrastructure solutions from industry stakeholders.
    • Manage project budgets, cash flows, and capital funding requirements.
    • Conduct research into industry best practices and emerging technologies
