    Procurement Officer - Johannesburg

    Key Responsibilities

    This position is responsible for the administration of contracts and for supporting the Procurement Manager. Under general supervision, the Contract Administrator aids the Procurement Manager for the contract management and contract administration functions of Aramex. Responsibilities include the process of systematically and efficiently managing contract creation, execution, and analysis for the purpose of maximizing financial and operational performance and minimizing risk.

    KEY ACTIVITIES

    • Reviews and/or provides guidance in the preparation of contracts, agreements, amendments and change orders.
    • Verification that all contractual clauses are included in documents (as are appropriate).
    • Manage vendor/supplier performance in relation to contractual agreements.
    • Ensuring compliance to terms and conditions of contracts.
    • Manage contract closeout procedures.
    • Track payments to vendors as per contract
    • Administer Contracts Compliance and Database
    • Facilitate the scrutiny of finalized contract/ SLA in consultation with Legal Services
    • Update the commitment register of approved contracts when payments are processed.
    • Co-ordinate and monitor long term contracts for the provision of all Aramex Commodities
    • Monitor supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement to circumvent unnecessary delays.
    • Implement measurements and organize the electronic tracking of contracts and related documents Contracts Review and Updates: Review modifications, extensions, and contract close-out documents for further action on Ariba System
    • Prepare and distribute reports and statistical data to facilitate planning and maintenance of contract records.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders in the gathering, analysing, summarizing and preparation of recommendations on practices and procedures.
    • Tracking and Analysis: Participate and support in Procurement analysis, primary responsibilities is to analyse data to maximize supply chain efficiency and assist in all RFx process.
    • Mathematical understanding: In addition to data analysis, must have substantial math skills to appropriately calculate supply chain costs and savings. 
    • Interpersonal skills: work with several external stakeholders within the supply chain. 

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Of:

    • Local, federal laws, codes and regulations related to governmental procurement; principles, methods, procedures, and practices of procurement to include RFP administration.
    • Current and effective purchasing and inventory methods and practices, policies, and standards
    • Basic accounting principles to understand the flow of purchasing.
    • Computers and current office software programs for word processing, presentations, and email at the intermediate level of proficiency; spreadsheets and databases at the intermediate level of proficiency; as well as the ability to learn and operate efficiently specialized software as related to the functional area.

    Minimum Requirements

    • CIPS, bachelor’s degree in Commercial Law, bachelor’s in supply chain management, r related fields
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Procurement Officer position
    • Matric (Grade 12) qualification and or similar qualification and or experience
    • Strong financial analysis and relevant legal knowledge
    • Ariba experience with relevant procurement modules
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Procurement Officer position
    • Valid Code 08 driver’s license and own reliable transport essential.
