Product Designer - Design Systems at iKhokha

So, what will you do?

• You will be responsible for building, maintaining and governing the design system.
• You will facilitate the design of user-friendly interfaces that solve customer and business needs.
• You will work with multidisciplinary teams to frame challenges, understand customer behaviours, facilitate solutioning and validating hypotheses.

Deal Breakers:

• A minimum of 3 years as a Product or User Experience Designer

Specific Knowledge:

• Design system building and maintenance, Design thinking, User experience design, User interface design, Design chapter contribution.

Business Understanding:

• Product and technology

What would you be responsible for?

Design System Building and Maintenance:

• Set up and maintaining a design system that is user-friendly, on-brand, scalable, usable, user-friendly and well documented
• Partner with Front-end developers to set up and scale a front-end coded design system
• Create processes for other Product Designers to request updates to the design system
• Assist Product Designers by developing or enhancing components for their use cases
• Update the design system based on user feedback, industry best-practice and usability heuristics

Design Thinking and User Experience Design:

• Identify opportunities for human-centered problem solving within Pod
• Frame design challenges early in projects that incorporate customer and business problems, including hypotheses and assumptions
• Choose design methodologies that are fit for the challenge and allocated time frames
• Work closely with Research Analyst to facilitate the relevant research method/s to inform and validate hypotheses
• Facilitate synthesis of data into actionable insights
• Facilitate the ideation of product solutions
• Design flows and experiences that adhere to usability heuristics and user insights

User Interface Design:

• Ensure that the final design solves the intended customer and business problem in a manner that is usable, delightful, accessible and on-brand
• Utilize and contribute scalable components to the product design system
• Handover designs and flows to developers in a manner that is easy for them to understand and consume
• Review developed work to ensure that it meets the envisioned design
• Keep abreast of global best-practice user interface design

Design Chapter Contribution:

• Participate and contribute to envisioning, defining, documenting and evangelizing the Product Design practice
• Review and contribute towards peers’ design work to raise our bar for quality
• Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and updating of shared design documentation repositories

Qualifications;

• A Design Degree or Interaction/User Experience/Product Design Certificate
