Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
• Develop discipline-specific plans / systems to reduce exposure to risks.
• Design and approve operational risk management systems to assess critical risks and monitor effectiveness of critical controls.
• Directing and support Mine Performance in alignment with Business Strategies and goals 
• Facilitating Mine decisions
• Identifying improvement opportunities
• Managing ownership of Mine initiatives
• Representing the Mine as well as managing risks and threats to Mine proactively
• Providing support for improved performance
• Providing support with the development and acceptance of business plans and strategies
• This role is in the Mining Department at a Band 5 level reporting to the General Manager

Qualifications:

• Professional qualifications in Mining (degree or national diploma)
• Mine Manager Certificate of competency
• Blasting Certificate
• Exposure to 3.1a legal appointment
• Business qualification will be advantageous.

To be successful, you will have the following experience:

• At least 10 years mining management experience, in which 3 to 5 years must be in a conventional mine.
