Professional Nurse General (General Nursing) Grade 1
Basic R 425 qualification, i.e., Diploma / Degree in nursing that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council as Professional Nurse. Proof of current registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse.
Experience in mother and child or operating theatre is an added advantage. Must be able to work within the ethical and legal framework that governs the nursing professional and public service employees.
The professional nurse must provide nursing care as part of the multidisciplinary team and actively participate in decision making within the scope of their practice, in the best interest of quality patient care in a mother and child hospital.
Candidates must be able to work in a team in a high-pressure environment. Candidates must have good communication, leadership, and conflict management skills. Must be able to maintain patients and relative’s confidentiality, respect, and dignity.
Duties :
Provision of optimal, holistic specialised nursing care with set standards and within a professional/ legal framework. Effective utilisation of Human and Material resources. Participation in training and research. Provision of support to Nursing services. Maintain professional growth, ethical standards, and self-development. Supervision and teaching of junior staff.
