Professsor: English Education at University of Fort Hare

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• The Faculty of Education seeks an accomplished academic to join our Language and Literacy Education Department. The appointment will be made at the level of Professor.
• Reporting to the Head of Department, this is a rare opportunity to lead, innovate, and inspire the next generation of Academics and Researchers. The successful candidate will take primary responsibility as a Module Leader in the teaching of English Education and bring expertise in at least one other area of our undergraduate programme (Bachelor of Education: Intermediate Phase; Bachelor of Education: Foundation Phase and Post Graduate Certificate in Foundation Phase). Beyond the classroom, the successful candidate will contribute actively to the strategic plan of the Faculty and the University, playing a key role in driving innovation in teaching, curriculum development, research, internationalization, and community engagement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• Doctoral Degree in relevant discipline within the Faculty
• At least 9 years’ experience in higher education
• Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience
• A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
• Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor
