A minimum tertiary qualification in project management/ engineering or planning / post graduate management or Computer literacy: MS Office, MS Project competence.
Experience: Eight or more years’ relevant experience (programme management) with extensive people management experience
Must demonstrate ability to:
Plan and manage a major programme or programmes comprising of multiple projects of high risk and complexity that impact significantly on the municipality;
Make final interpretive decisions on programme implementation issues of a complex nature in unpredictable environments, which have an impact across the municipality or in external service delivery;
Lead a programme team and/or manage staff; and
Facilitate the successful implementation of multiple projects within respective programmes.
Key Performance Areas
To lead and manage a portfolio of high risk, complex projects and programmes of significant impact on the Urban Planning and Design Portfolio
Coordinate with interested and affected officials, professional bodies internal and external and other related resources to set and attain programme objectives
Ensure the development, coordination, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of these programmes and projects all in accordance with corporate and business unit strategies, standards and systems.
Including major programmes such as the Local Planning Support Office Establishment, the Citywide Public Spaces Programme, the Liveable Streets Programme, the Local Area Planning Programme and other strategic or flagship objectives of the business unit as the organisation matures/transitions.
