Project Development Manager (Solar PV/Wind)

Responsibilities:

• Renewable Energy (wind and solar PV) project development up to the pre-construction phase
• Project management of wind and/or solar PV projects under development
• Fulfil the role of “key contact” for our clients, including preparation of progress reports to be shared with our clients
• Project controls assistance, updating tracking and budget controls for project under development
• Report writing and document reviews from environmental specialists and environmental practitioners
• Assistance with the management of the environmental impact assessments
• Project administration, including as a minimum, permit acquisition and the management of land, legal, environmental and basic technical due diligence processes
• Project development progress reports and management of development timetables
• Reviewing and preparing legal documents for securing land for development of renewable energy projects and securing servitudes for the required grid connection of the projects.
• Managing Environmental Impact Assessment processes for proposed developments (managing the environmental assessment practitioner and various specialists to deliver timeously, reviewing the Environmental Impact Assessment report and the numerous supporting specialist studies, and ensuring the projects secure Environmental Approvals).
• Securing all relevant permits and approvals required for projects to be bid in the South African Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP)
• Project management reporting and budget controls assistance with SA REIPPPP and other African projects
• Coordinating with stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and information sharing when developing projects as part of a joint venture with another company
• Assisting with day to day administration, queries and research
• Researching potential African energy opportunities (macroeconomics, environmental policies and framework, general legal policy and frameworks)
• Assistance with the management and review of the environmental impact assessments and specialist reports for SA REIPPPP projects
• Assistance with project controls such as monthly reporting, updating tracking and budget controls for projects
• Presentation compilation and strategy input for presenting renewable energy projects to investors and buyers

Skills:

• Bachelor of Business Science or Bachelor of Engineering
• Sharp attention to detail
• Able to coordinate multiple tasks and processes in a project
