Drive complex chemical projects from concept to completion within a leading engineering environment. We seek a highly skilled and registered Project Engineer to manage multi-disciplinary teams, technical designs, contractor coordination, and project execution across South Africa and international sites.
This role is central to delivering compliant, on-time, and on-budget engineering solutions.
You will work alongside the Engineering Project Manager to manage capital projects, including the design and in-house fabrication of piping systems, pressure equipment, and large structures.
The ideal candidate is familiar with industry standards (OHS Act, ASME B31/VIII, SANS) and has advanced proficiency in MS Project and AutoCAD. This is a career-defining opportunity to lead technically complex projects with strategic importance.
Minimum Requirements:
BSc Mechanical Engineering
Project Management Diploma
Experience & Technical Skills:
10+ years in the petroleum industry
5+ years in project engineering
Expert knowledge of piping, structural and pressure equipment design
Proficient in P&IDs, HAZOP, MOC, NEC & JBCC contract administration
MS Project, AutoCAD, Excel, Word (intermediate level)
Key Competencies:
Strong leadership of cross-functional teams
Effective stakeholder communication
Strategic planner with budget and cost control capability
Able to prioritise under pressure and manage frequent travel demands
