    Project Manager

    Job Purpose:

    • Project managers are responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. Project managers plan and designate project resources, prepare budgets, monitor progress, and keep stakeholders informed the entire way.

    Key Performace Indicators:

    • Coordinate internal and external resources, as well as vendors and stock, towards the execution of projects to meet customer and internal timeline and budget requirements.
    • Ensure that all projects are delivered within scope and with the required documents and sign off procedures.
    • Ensure resource allocation based on skill and project scope.
    • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.
    • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
    • Manage the relationship with the client and all relevant stakeholders.
    • Perform risk management to minimize project risks such as GP, SHE and timeline. Report and escalate to management as and when needed.
    • Establish and maintain good relationships with third parties/vendors and customers.
    • Provide weekly reports to management on project progress, highlighting risks and mitigation factors to timelines and GP targets.
    • Design, continuously improve, and implement strategy for Health and Safety in terms of applicable law as well as good practice.

    Core Competencies:

    • Strong leadership - The project manager, is responsible for not only guiding the project through a successful execution and completion, but for leading the team that will achieve that goal.
    • Effective Communication - Good project managers are clear and concise communicators. They provide honest, prompt, and direct communication. When a project manager communicates well, all involved in the project are more likely to be engaged and invested in the health of the project.
    • Negotiation Skills – Whether negotiating for support from senior management, negotiating with 3rd party suppliers, or in conversation with clients, there are always varying interests that project managers need to align. In order to build negotiation skills, project managers should invest the time to understand team and client relationships and the motivations of their stakeholders’ interests.
    • Risk Management - Be proactive than reactive when it comes to any risks or issues that may delay or derail a project.
    • Organisation and Planning skills - Planning skills go hand-in-hand with being organized as they are synergistic elements to a successful project. Proper planning means having a plan for everything from the big picture (the project plan, creation of meeting plans, statements of work, timelines, resource plans, and project briefs and budget updates) to the smaller, more mundane details (planning out your day, who you’re going to communicate with that week, and how you are going to make time to update your status documents, brief your team, etc.).

    Desired Skills:

    • 2/4 years’ experience in the AV/VC field.
    • 2/4 years’ relevant experience in a technical field, project management and the building industry.
    • Knowledge of PMBok and project management qualifications.
    • Previous IT experience.
    • Ability to supervise and manage tasks and personnel to meet project timeline and budget.
    • Must have a fundamental understanding of AV system functionality and installation process and techniques.
    • Ability to trouble shoot and solve technical, personnel or other project related issues.
    • Ability to read and comprehend project technical documents including, but not limited to;
    • Engineering and architectural drawings, schedules, test reports, or commissioning documents.
