Projects Engineer at BAT

To cost effectively and efficiently coordinate and manage projects and/or sub-projects for the Heidelberg factory and BAT South Africa.

Principal accountabilities

• Coordination and detailed planning on projects
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Report writing including project reports (progress/deviations), investigative and proposal reports, capital budget costing and analysis, costing reports on projects, preparation of project presentations
• To check and verify the specifications
• To prepare and improve the preventative maintenance schedules
• To assist with asset register system on request
• To apply EHS aspects and legislative requirements in all projects
• The candidate will work collaboratively with all levels of staff, from the most senior to the most junior and with the company's external parties, many of which will be senior officials, and governing bodies, suppliers and contractors

Requirements

• Education Engineering Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Process Engineering or any Engineering qualification,
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in Project Management
• Good understanding of systems and IT skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Projects, SAP)
• Project management qualification and/or a government certificate of competence will be to your advantage
• Problem solving demeanor
• The ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Self-starter able to work with minimum supervision.
• Good organizational skills.
• A good knowledge of environment, health and safety legislative regulations and standards.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills and attention to detail
