Technical Planner at Ilembe District Municipality

Description

• To provide support to the Planning and IDP section and assist in planning, collecting and rearranging of various data.
• Undertaking Development Planning related activities, by: Collecting and preparing data for various planning projects.
• Scheduling of planning meetings and site visits.
• Conducts field work, collects data for planners.
• Coordinating Integrated Development Planning by, assisting in the annual review process of the Integrated Development Plans;
• Alignment and integration of the Sector Plans, Provincial and national Government Programmes, Service Providers and participating Municipalities' IDP with the District IDP.
• Assistance in the coordination of sector department interventions to ensure alignment with Municipality's IDP objectives.
• Assisting in the compilation of Spatial Development Frameworks (SOF) as part of Integrated Development Plan (IDP) processes.
• Standard Chart of accounts, linking projects with national and provincial objectives and municipal targets,
• Provide assistance to the Chief Planner with spatial planning and municipal land use management by attending to registrar duties of the Joint Municipal Planning Tribunal.
• Providing planning comments in terms of alignment of applications with District SDF and IDP.
• Office administration of the Joint Municipal Planning Tribunal.
• Assisting the public and other stakeholders with planning/land use queries and compliance with legislation and policy.

Requirements

• National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Town and Regional Planning
• A valid Code B driver’s license
• Minimum of 1 year experience in similar work
• Registration with the statutory body established under the Planning Profession Act, 2002
