Job Description

• A thorough understanding of the Sasolburg and Waltloo production plants which includes their products, raw materials safety and engineering requirements. The major processes included manufacturing of Carbon disulphide, range of collectors, frothers, depressants and flocculants.
• An ability to assist, guide and manage process and project engineers to enable successful projects.
• An ability to assist with plant improvements where this may include plant expansions, debottlenecking and safety improvements.
• An ability to interact and communicate well with internal and external resources, engineers, vendors and people in general.
• A thorough understanding and knowledge of complete project management systems and procedures including SAP requirements for projects.
• A thorough understanding and knowledge of the company systems, rules and organogram.
• To advise and guide others where required.
• To transfer technical knowledge and skills to production, project and process engineering teams.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Chemical engineering
• 10 years experience in a Chemical/Process/Project/Engineering within a chemical manufacturing plant or industrial environment
• 5 years’ experience in managing projects and teams
• A comprehensive understanding of process and project engineering applicable to the Mining Chemicals industry.
• Knowledge w.r.t various process, project engineering, people skills and techniques related to manufactured of mining chemicals.
• A comprehensive understanding of project management fundamentals, the framework into the execution and closure phase
• A comprehensive understanding of the health, safety and quality related standards applicable to the Mining Chemicals industry.
