    Quality Manager

    Based in Rosslyn, South Africa in one of the biggest manufacturing plants in the region and reporting to the Quality Director EMEA, you will be responsible for overseeing E2E Quality strategies in the Sub Saharan Africa region. Your focus will be overseeing the quality management systems in three manufacturing plants as well as managing the partnership with suppliers and third-party manufactures in the region. You’ll be also leading a motivated regional team.

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the Africa cluster quality strategy implementing standards, policies and strategies developed at regional and global level
    • Lead, develop and support quality personnel with focus on building quality knowledge and capability
    • Embed a Quality mindset into all business partners to focus on the consumer.
    • Lead the quality team to identify, prioritize and eradicate losses and waste throughout the manufacturing and supply chain process
    • Driving implementation of quality policies, strategies, standards and implementation of global initiatives at the plant level, and identifying plant best practices and world class programs to recommend for global standards
    • Co-partnering with pillar owners to strengthen the quality culture and transform from management to employee-led quality programs
    • Providing adequate resources to address internal failures found either supplier based or operationally based to determine root cause and effectively eliminate the issue
    • Provide training for plant quality pillars to build competence and capability and training to plant employees to drive employee owned and led quality
    • Build robust Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with internal standards as well as ISO 9001:2008 standards that drives continuous improvement in Quality performance
    • Continually monitor KPIs by line to routinely understand all losses to drive improvement
    • Assure adequate control of nonconforming product to eliminate exposure of poor-quality product to customer/consume

    Educational Qualifications
    Required Experience / Competencies:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum 8 years of experience in similar role leading Quality Management systems
    • At least 3 years of people management experience with the ability to connect, motivate and change behavior, preferably with virtual teams on regional level

    Essential Experience

    • Experience in problem solving; broad based statistics; consumer data management; process control and capability programs; developing new systems
    • Experience in working in a matrix organization and familiarity with the pillar structure
