R&D Laboratory Technician at Puratos

POSITION OVERVIEW

• Reporting directly to the R&D Bakery Manager, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:
• Entire baking process: Preparation of ingredients, kneading and making the dough, rising and baking.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Baking Excellence
• Be familiar with formulation, recipes, process, equipments.
• Explore new ingredients in various Bakery applications.
• Contribute to the development of new recipes and methods.
• Report over the R&D development project all the characteristics associated with the baking test. Accuracy will be highly required.
   

Control of the Lab

• Be responsible for the entire R&D Lab, insuring:
• Maintenance of the existing equipment; installation of the new equipment: follow-up and maintenance of the equipment (first contract of supplier)
• Maintaining a hygienic and safe environment for the team.

JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric and Diploma: Food Science;
• Experience: > 3-5 years in Food sector (FMCG Market) preferable Bakery oriented;
• Languages: English, Afrikaans, Zulu will be advantageous;
• Computer literacy: Office computer (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word);
• Other expertise: Business & result driven, presentation skill, strong interpersonal skills: passionate in bakery, accuracy and attention to details, team player.
