Knowledge

• Eskom and Generation strategy, business plans, policies and procedures
• South African legislation processes, procedures and protocols (AEL, NAEIS, MES, carbon emission reporting)
• Existing national and international environmental professional standards
• Concepts and principles of interpreting legislation
• Implications and impacts of various operations and business processes on environmental indicators and Generation plant processes
• Technical aspects of various business processes, operations and the impact on environmental indicators (air quality and Generation focus)

Key Responsibilities

• Consult and advise on the interpretation and implementation of environmental management strategies, policies and processes in respect of air quality (including the Minimum Emission Standards)
• Manage technical multi-disciplinary teams for the delivery of air quality compliance activities
• Identify, interpret, and assess proposed environmental management-related legislation, standards and decisions (focus on air quality and climate change).
• Determine and recommend best practices for environmental management (air quality) and consult on implementation and legal responses.
• Identify environmental management objectives and key performance indicators (KPls).
• Explore and formulate engagement with relevant stakeholders and authorities and consult on strategic partnerships.
• Coach and mentor environmental professionals.

Minimum requirements
Qualification(s):

• Honours Degree in Environmental Management at NQF8 with 480 credits

Related Minimum Experience:

• Seven (7) Years experience in the area of environmental management

Professional Registration:

• South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
