Reinsurance Accountant at Bryte Insurance Company Limited

Our opportunity

The provision of timely & accurate management of the reinsurance accounting function from system set up to capturing and reporting, as well as business partnering insights to the Bryte Leadership Team.

Key Accountabilities

Functional Management

You would be required to assist in all aspects of the reinsurance accounting duties, including but not limited to:

Reinsurance technical accounting

• General ledger maintenance, including preparation of journal entries and analysis of accounts
• Reconciliations of all reinsurance accounts
• Reinsurance Statement of Accounts
• Cash management
• Monthly reinsurance reporting to stakeholders
• Analysis of results and balances
• Assistance with the new reinsurance system implementation
• Preparation of reinsurance treaty statistics
• Streamlining of processes
• System set-up and testing of reinsurance treaties
• System set-up and testing of facultative contracts
• Change champion with regard to systems implementation.

Stakeholder Management

Stakeholders include

• Functional Business Heads
• Finance department
• Reinsurance underwriting department
• Exco
• Reinsurers and Brokers

Education and Experience

• B.Com Accounting Degree
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance roles in the insurance industry, preferably in reinsurance
