    Remuneration and Wellness Consultant - Houghton

    Support service offering in remuneration and wellness

    • Responsible for consulting on all remuneration, wellness and recognition programmes.
    • Provide timely and accurate guidance to management to resolve complaints related to remuneration and wellness
    • Maintain effective communication between HR, Line managers and employees
    • Engage and participate in interactions and meetings involving the Union
    • Provide support and guidance in the end-to-end process of annual increases and bonuses
    • Conduct job analysis and profiling as per allocated assignments in accordance with the process and standards of SBV
    • Partake in Job evaluation to more accurately produce and explain Job grading and evaluation within SBV
    • Assist with the annual salary survey benchmarking exercise
    • Drive automation and digitisation in the department as allocated and aligned to the long-term strategy of the SBV HR team

    Support the Head Remuneration and Wellness to implement the Wellness strategy across the SBV Group

    • Support in the establishment, implementation, and enhancement of the Wellness strategy across the SBV Group through the customisation of the strategic plan, stakeholder requirements and annual calendar to provide global best practice wellness initiatives
    • Manage projects, pilot initiatives, and prepare documents, materials to accomplish the implementation of the wellness program and the execution of the strategic plan aligned to the company scorecard
    • Conduct the relevant gap analysis and propose remedial actions and initiatives
    • Research and engage with the relevant vendors to onboard/enhance the Wellness offerings submitting the information to the Head for evaluation and approval
    • Identify and develop initiatives to leverage existing partnerships and expand prospects within the wellness program area
    • Provide support in the socialisation and formation of relevant internal wellness forums implementing the necessary structural and governance parameters
    • Support in the creation and implementation of the wellness policies and governance around the function
    • Partner with the People Services team in terms of validations and incorporation into the benefits admin portfolio shared services own.

    Support service offering to centres in Africa and the Global Mobility programmes

    • Provide support and guidance in the HR due diligence project process for international business
    • Provide support when opening new centres in Africa in reference to providing guidance and due diligence
    • Provide administrative support and assistance for the expatriate program
    • Act as primary day to day “go to” person for expatriate employee issue resolution.
    • Responsible for the orientation of expatriates inclusive of briefing and information packs for expatriates
    • Provide feedback on a regular basis to Head: Remuneration and Wellness highlighting potential risks and challenges

    Job Analysis, Profiling and Evaluation

    • Generate and maintain grading and title maps for the SBV organisation, making recommendations around job title alignment / standardisation
    • Key participant in SBV re-organisations / re-structures in terms of job analysis and profiling standardisation validation
    • Partake in the Grading Committee, facilitating the minute circulation as agreed
    • Where applicable undertake to job analysis, work scopes or profiles as required
    • Provide support and input in the job evaluation and benchmarking committee meetings

    HR Projects and initiatives

    • Partner with various stakeholders to co-ordinate and run with allocated projects or initiatives, providing feedback on challenges, lessons learnt and successes
    • Conduct focus groups, site visits and engagement session in order to collect information / research from employees with regards to improvements, requirements and future requirements related to remuneration and wellness
    • Coordinate and implement innovative initiatives and ways of work to support remuneration and wellness
    • Provide support and validation services to the Enablement People team in terms of the diversification initiatives they are implementing.
    • Generate and deliver the annual Total reward statements for the management team

    Research, benchmark and MIS Reporting

    • Responsible for conducting research in areas regarding remuneration and wellness to enable analysis and prediction of market trends.
    • Make recommendations in respect of remuneration and wellness to ensure the retention, motivation and recruitment of key personnel.
    • Analyse collected data and information to provide MIS reporting to identify tends
    • Research applicable subject matter practices and remain aware of industry and global trends in the wellness landscape
    • Conduct research and make recommendations in terms of HR trends and best practice for example but not limited to:
    • Innovative incentive schemes to reward performance aligned to business objectives
    • Effective wellness /remuneration communication
    • Assist in the submission of survey data for selected surveys
    • Provide accurate and comprehensive MIS reporting as per customer or management requests

    Conduct monthly audits on HR Information to ascertain the integrity of information

    Maintain Governance and provide support in the updating of policies and procedures

    • Establish and maintain a central repository for the Remuneration and Wellness team as per POPI and SBV standards
    • Assess internal policies and practices against the external market and provide future offerings to combat current challenges
    • Assist in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures
    • Comply with remuneration practices, company policies and procedures and legislation

    • Live the department’s values while inspiring confidence and generating excitement, enthusiasm and commitment towards the mission.
    • Serve as a leader of the culture program driving the desired behaviours and encouraging employee engagement

    Provide leadership to employees within the organisation, creating a winning culture and high morale

    • Lead as an Ambassador and executor of Change
    • Act as a change Champion in periods of change to ensure continuity
    • Effectively communicate and embed new processes and procedures as they occur addressing or escalating matters / concerns to the relevant SME’s (subject matter experts) when required
    • Facilitate the necessary presentations, workshops, or forums to ensure consistent and accurate communication is given

    People Management

    • Assist with the Employee Value Proposition entrenchment with the aim to strengthen and position SBV as an employer of choice.
    • Creates a conducive environment which translates into productivity and high morale within SBV
    • Inspire one’s team to deliver on key performance areas
    • Adhere to legislative requirements and Group policies and procedures

    Minimum Requirements: Work Experience and Qualifications

    • 2 years conducting Remuneration and Wellness functions for a unionised company.
    • Knowledge of general HR policies and practices: Advantageous
    • Experience on SAGE 300 & Kronos: Advantageous
    • Relevant HR 3 year degree/diploma
    • A certified Global Remuneration Professional: Advantageous
    • Computer Literacy: Intermediate to Advance level i.e. Word, Excel and Power Point
