Safety Officer at Hire Resolve

Description:

• Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Safety Officer to join their mining company based in North-West. You will be responsible for promoting a safe working environment through inspections, risk management, compliance monitoring, incident investigation and the implementation of health and safety programmes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
• Monitor and promote adherence to health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and regulations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, compile reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of safety management systems, programmes and initiatives.
• Provide safety coaching, guidance and awareness training to employees and supervisors.
• Monitor emergency preparedness, escape routes and compliance with emergency response procedures.
• Conduct compliance audits and inspections to ensure safe work practices and operational standards are maintained.
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviours and recommend appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
• Compile and submit safety reports, inspection findings and risk management documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing workplace safety and reducing operational risk.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• 5 years' experience as a Safety Officer within an opencast mining environment
• COMSOC 1&2/SAMTRAC
• Blasting Certificate for Opencast Mines OR Valid Trade Test Certificate
• Strata Control
• ISO 9001/2015 & ISO 140001 (Advantageous)
• Accident Incident Investigation Technique’s
