    Sales Lead - Exports

    The Big Picture: 

    • ESAB South Africa, a division of Howden Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Sales Lead- Exports to manage the Sales activities within the export market (Southern Africa, excl South Africa), including direct contacts with the main distributors and key accounts. Provide market intelligence for own and Regional purposes. Set the area sales performance targets in line with business requirements. Develop market opportunities for Esab products. Develop and implement the export business plan effectively within the area, and ensure that S&A resources are utilised effectively.

    What needs to be done?

    • Development of business case for new products or distribution
    • Delivery of a detailed area business plan aligned to the ESAB business plan
    • Collation of market intelligence and agreement on appropriate products and services to introduce to meet the market needs, including commitments on projected volume and price
    • Delivery of regional distributor strategies including main distributors and sub distributors
    • Delivery of key account strategy  and development of key product strategies
    • Identification of new market opportunities and incorporation into regional business plan
    • Technical support for distributors and key accounts
    • Forecast stock requirements on a monthly basis
    • Area SG&A costs
    • Translation of the Sub Saharan African Business Plan objectives into local area objectives. Implementation and management of channel strategy and marketing policy (range, brands, new product launches, local pricing and campaigns).
    • After sales service / service centre operations. Assist accounts department with timely collections
    • Comply with ISO9001, OCHSA 18001 and ISO14001
    • Lead the safety effort and awareness within area of responsibility. Routinely conduct safety observation and highlight any non-conformances
    • Adhere to all SOX Compliance Controls with reverence to the narratives applicable to your area of responsibility.

    What do you need to bring? 

    • Grade 12/ Matric
    • Diploma in Marketing
    • Technical qualification
    • Min 5 years related sales experience.
    • ESAB / Welding Equipment range knowledge
    • Computer Literate
    • Influencing and selling skills
    • Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Projects
    • An understanding of welding and cutting products
