    Sales Specialist Enterprise Software

    Role Summary:

    As a Sales Specialist Enterprise Software will be a part of the Power Grids Business and Grid Automation Business Line based in Modderfontein. Reporting to Head of MEIA Global Customer Care , you will be responsible for sales of enterprise software and services within Southern African market in accordance with the strategy of ABB Enterprise Software. The objectives are to build long-term customer relationships and manage solutions specific customer needs and issues, while identifying, developing and closing sales opportunities.


    Your Responsibilities

    • Volume and Profit: Selling products or solutions or services to customers, focusing on volume, mix and profitability target for the assigned Business Unit and Product Groups.
    • Customer relations: Establishing and maintaining effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Promoting customer understanding of full product or systems or services offerings and align to provide a solution. Ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
    • Sales Plan: Preparing sales plans using company tools. Performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plan(s) in case of potential order shortfalls.
    • Sales: Creating added value for the customer and ABB and ensuring the successful outcome of transactions, contracts and proposals by using effective sales techniques. Communicating details in accordance with ABB offering and strategy.
    • Marketing : Ensuring efficient marketing activities and value propositions to customers.
    • New market opportunities: Identifying and drive the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensure know-how sharing and cross-collaboration.
    • Administration: Managing administrative procedures in sales processes, and supporting collection and project management activities when needed.
    • Offer preparation: Preparing offers in coordination with the bid and proposal department and/or the Marketing Manager. Ensuring appropriate technical and financial aspects of offers, including prices and trading conditions.
    • Safety and Integrity : Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
       

    Your background

    • A Bachelor’s or diploma in Engineering or relevant Sales qualification.
    • Minimum 5 years of sales experience of Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) and Asset Management solutions in capital-intensive industry (Mining, Oil & Gas, and Public Infrastructure).
    • Fluent spoken and written English – Mandatory.
    • Fluent spoken and written skills in other African languages will be an advantage.
    • Experience with ABB solutions will be an advantage.
    • Should be able to meet sales targets and increase value for the company with demonstration of competence in a selling solution to meet a customer requirement will make you an ideal fit for this role.
