    SALT Senior Software Engineer

    Qualification:

    • B.Eng. / B.Sc. in computer science or electrical engineering or related field

    Experience:

    • 5 years practical experience in the full software development life cycle in a scientific, engineering, instrumentation, or industrial environment and have successfully lead software projects for at least 2 years.
    • Have successfully developed software by applying structured software development methodologies
    • Purpose: Software and mechatronic development and planning on SALT-related projects as well as support of SALT operations.
    • Plan and manage software projects
    • Derive software requirements based on stakeholder inputs
    • Strategic planning and obsolescence management of software systems
    • Develop software quality control processes
    • Act as lead developer, software architect
    • Perform software design, development and support through all stages of the development life-cycle
    • Design and test software via Acceptance Test Procedures as part of subsystem commissioning
    • Perform fault finding and bug fixes

    Knowledge:

    • Applying Systems Engineering principles
    • Familiar with software quality control and development processes
    • Developing and deploying software in the Linux environment
