B.Eng. / B.Sc. in computer science or electrical engineering or related field
Experience:
5 years practical experience in the full software development life cycle in a scientific, engineering, instrumentation, or industrial environment and have successfully lead software projects for at least 2 years.
Have successfully developed software by applying structured software development methodologies
Purpose: Software and mechatronic development and planning on SALT-related projects as well as support of SALT operations.
Plan and manage software projects
Derive software requirements based on stakeholder inputs
Strategic planning and obsolescence management of software systems
Develop software quality control processes
Act as lead developer, software architect
Perform software design, development and support through all stages of the development life-cycle
Design and test software via Acceptance Test Procedures as part of subsystem commissioning
Perform fault finding and bug fixes
Knowledge:
Applying Systems Engineering principles
Familiar with software quality control and development processes
Developing and deploying software in the Linux environment
