Senior Audit Manager CA(SA) at Hire Resolve

• Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced, deadline-driven Senior Audit Manager for a leading national firm of Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditors in Pietermaritzburg. Reporting to executive leadership, this leadership role oversees the audit, accounting, and tax operations—managing quality control, staff mentorship, branch revenue targets, and high-level client relationships.

Key Performance Areas:

• Audit Execution & Review: Oversee complete audit planning, execution, and detailed reviews of financial statements, working papers, and reports produced by junior staff.
• Branch Leadership & Revenue: Develop, manage, and monitor branch revenue targets, budgets, work-in-progress (WIP), and timeous fee recoveries.
• Quality Control & Governance: Manage quality control standards across the firm, execute technical accounting/tax reviews, and sign off reports (if registered as an RA).
• Staff Development & SAICA Mentorship: Mentor, coach, and supervise trainees and audit staff. Act as a SAICA Assessor / Trainee Officer to guide professional evaluations.
• Client & Business Development: Drive client engagement, attend strategic meetings, resolve complex technical queries, and drive new business development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Education & Credentials: Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) with a completed BCom degree and SAICA articles. Registered Auditor (RA) status is highly advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years post-articles experience within an established audit firm, including proven supervisory/management experience.
• Technical Skills: Extensive hands-on experience using CaseWare.
• SAICA Accreditation: Must be (or qualify to be) a registered SAICA Assessor / Trainee Officer.
