Senior Broker Servicing Consultant at Swiss Re

About the role:

As Senior Broker Servicing Consultant you will our South African based Underwriting team in the handling of insurance business for corporates and their brokers. You will provide technical and operational assistance to meet clients', intermediaries' and internal underwriting needs, enabling true portfolio underwriting Duties and responsibilities directly impact productivity, process efficiency, timeliness, profitability and accuracy of the underwriting process as well as our service delivery to customers. This position may require occasional travel for business meetings or training.

Your main tasks:

• Working as an integral part of the team to partner and drive underwriting submissions, mid-term adjustments and renewals
• Supporting the Underwriting team with renewal package preparation (deal analysis of renewal accounts) and endorsement triaging and preparation
• Preparing and issuing documents (binders, policies, endorsements and certificates) to our brokers and customers
• Collaborating with our centralised Credit control team to follow up on outstanding premium positions and broker queries
• Being front of house to own and resolve broker and customer-facing issue's while delivering a proactive and exceptional experience
• Collaborate with brokers to ensure full data requirements received on new business, MTA's and renewals.
• Working directly with external contacts to generate and retain customers
• Promoting our products and services and being the go-to person for your partners
• Developing a deep knowledge of processes, system touch-points, areas for potential defects, areas for future improvements and become a subject-matter-expert
• Updating of standard operating procedures and be involved in system change projects
• Act as referral point for junior team members.

Additionally you will:

• Be a senior member of the meeting and take on stretch targets and projects
• Compile, sort, review and verify data accuracy using source documents, detect errors, and initiate correction while following-up with customer or process owner regarding any inconsistencies found

About the team

• You will be joining the local South African team, having a variety of proficiencies, skills and experience, all committed to bring success to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. In the role of Underwriting Analyst, you will work closely with the EMEA Operations teams in centralized and offshore locations as well as your peers in other EMEA locations.

About You

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree
• Minimum of 5 years ' experience in commercial/ corporate insurance either as underwriting support or insurance broker.
• Understanding of Re/Insurance business, particularly in servicing and coordinating lead business with focus on International Programs
• Property Insurance Knowledge is a requirement, additional other line of business is a plus
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, always looking for improvements
• Able to prioritize, plan, coordinate and monitor personal work
• Excellent communication skills (reading, written and verbal)
• Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Package (Special focus on Excel)
• A relevant Insurance certification or diploma is a plus
