Senior Data Analyst at Spot Money SA

We're seeking a detail-driven and forward-thinking Senior Data Analyst who can dive deep into complex data, identify trends, and spark innovative solutions. The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for leading the Business Intelligence Strategy (BIS) across marketing, product, support, and finance. This role involves defining the data architecture, ensuring quality standards, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to meet the BIS needs of the business. The Senior Data Analyst will be accountable for managing work allocation within the data team, focusing on quality and timely delivery.
Key roles and responsibilities :

Business Intelligence Strategy:

• Develop, lead, and execute the Business Intelligence Strategy across marketing, product, support, and finance.

Data Management and Architecture:

• Define and develop data architecture and quality standards for the business.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to assess BIS needs to support the business objectives.

Team Management:

• Manage work allocation within the data team, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Reporting and Dashboards:

• Develop Reporting Business Requirements Specification (BRS) documents in collaboration with business owners. Including managing the BRS sign-off process and ROI calculation of the report development.
• Build, refine, and maintain business reporting dashboards to support the day-to-day operations across the business in line with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Predictive Modeling:

• Build, maintain and refine predictive models to support marketing, product, support, finance, and fraud initiatives.

Insights and Recommendations:

• Provide insights to business owners on reports, recommending improvements.
• Identify reports, processes, or models to enhance business performance aligned with KPIs.

Process Improvement:

• Improve business processes, databases, and recommend new tools.

Budget and Performance:

• Work within a defined budget, targets, and KPIs.
• Drive the business to be at the leading edge of Business Analytics.

Requirements :

• Proficient in Excel, mySQL, postgres, SQL, Python, AWS Cloud Services, Data Visualization (Quicksight and PowerBi).
• Knowledge and experience with AWS preferred.
• Knowledge of SDK and API integrations between services.
• Knowledge of websites, apps, and HTML.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, deliver on tight deadlines, and meet KPIs.
• Constantly benchmark performance against leading world-class businesses.
• Ability to interpret and make data-driven decisions.
• Proven organizational and collaborative skills to balance divergent priorities.
• Positive and empathetic attitude with a proven ability to work well with and lead teams.

• Degree or post-graduate qualification in a quantitative discipline.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in data modeling and management.
