Drone Technology & Multispectral Imaging. An expert is required to lead precision-farming technology across large-scale agriculture cultivation, with a strong focus on drone operations, multispectral imaging, geospatial analytics, and data-driven crop optimisation.
This role develops and executes advanced aerial survey programmes, interprets spectral data to provide crop-health insights, and builds analytical models to inform irrigation, nutrition, yield forecasting, and early stress detection.
Qualifications
BSc in Agriculture, Agronomy, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, Environmental Science or Computer Science.
Master’s degree advantageous (Precision Agriculture, GIS or Remote Sensing).
Valid SACAA RPL; ROC-compliant operations.
GIS certification is beneficial.
Experience & Skills
Minimum 5 years in agricultural drone technology, remote sensing, or precision farming.
Proven expertise with multispectral cameras (MicaSense/Parrot Sequoia) and processing tools (Pix4D, ENVI, Agisoft).
Advanced Python/R coding for image analysis and machine learning.
Strong agricultural insight, ideally with perennial or tropical crops.
Ability to work in demanding field environments and interpret complex agronomic datasets.
Key Focus Areas
Plan and execute compliant UAV flights, including multispectral, thermal and RGB imaging.
Analyse and interpret drone-captured data (NDVI, crop-stress indicators, vigour indices).
Build coding workflows (Python/R) for image processing, predictive modelling and dataset automation.
Integrate GIS mapping for variable-rate applications, resource optimisation and field-level decision-making.
Produce reports, dashboards and training for farm teams.
