Job Summary

Redheads Engineering Solutions is teaming up with one of our esteemed clients to hunt down an exceptional Senior Electrical Engineer. This thrilling opportunity offers a 12 - 18-month contract right in the heart of Richards Bay, with a dynamic contract rate of R400 per hour, contingent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you're not just a player; you're the conductor orchestrating groundbreaking electrical engineering initiatives for this project. This fundamental role is about dreaming up and meticulously crafting electrical systems and equipment that will shape the future.

We're on the hunt for someone who boasts 8 - 13 years of hands-on Electrical Engineering experience, ready to make their mark in an electrifying role.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive design evaluations to guarantee adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate electrical components within the project scope, offering invaluable design expertise.
• Develop and review detailed technical documentation, emphasizing precision and accuracy in all aspects.
• Mentor junior engineers to cultivate a culture of design excellence, playing a pivotal role in their professional growth.
• Oversee design validation processes and champion safety initiatives within the project team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; BSc/BEng preferred, BTech candidates must possess PrTech.
• Professional Engineering certification is advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
• Proven track record (minimum 8 years) in senior design roles within mining or heavy industries.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, etc.
• Strong grasp of electrical design principles, equipment selection, and construction materials.
• Exceptional project management skills, demonstrating capability in driving projects from inception to fruition.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaborative multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Experience in managing large projects and prior construction management exposure.
