Senior Electrician High Voltage x2 at Gamagara Local Municipality

Requirements:

• NQF Level 6 (National Diploma T3/ S3 with relevant trade). Wireman’s Licence equivalent). Code C1 Drivers Licence. Proficiency in MS Office application Excellent organizational and administrative skills; Excellent analytic and problem-solving ability; High level of integrity, responsibility and confidentiality; Have ability to give attention to detail and be able to work under pressure; Report writing; Communication Skills; Ability to deal with conflict situations; Excellent Negotiation skills

Duties:

• Operate, inspect, maintain and repair medium-voltage substations, transformers, cables, overhead lines and switching equipment. / Conduct fault-finding, switching, shutdowns, cable jointing, phasing and restoration of electricity supply. / Monitor network loads and reinforce overloaded feeders, cables and transformers. / Coordinate planned and emergency maintenance in accordance with NRS 047, NRS 048 and electrical safety procedures. / Supervise personnel, contractors and electrical work performed on the network. / Inspect installations, verify new connections, conduct COC inspections and coordinate meter maintenance. / Maintain electrical asset registers and ensure emergency materials, tools and equipment are available. / Prepare work programmes, requisitions, operational records and monthly performance reports. / Communicate outages, technical requirements and work progress to management, contractors, clients and the public.
