Senior Engineer and Professional Engineer at SMEC

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and energized Senior Engineer and Professional Engineer both with Geometric design experience to join a leading infrastructure consultancy and contribute to the growth and development of a business with a reputation for technical excellence and strong client relationships.
The positions will be based in our Cape Town office and we require candidates with extensive experience in Geometric Design and Roads design.
Professional Engineer Requirements

•  Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree/higher degree from an accredited University
•  Minimum 3 years of professional experience
•  Professional Registration with ECSA as Pr Eng
•  Ability to effectively write reports
•  Professional delivery and appearance to ensure SMEC image is maintained
•  Courteous and business orientated manners when communicating with stakeholders to foster and promote good working relations
•  Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment
•  Project financial knowledge, budgeting, forecasting and invoicing
•  Excellent communication skills
•  Experience with Bentley MicroStation and Open Roads Design Software advantages

Senior Engineer Requirements

•  Bachelor of Engineering degree from an accredited University
•  Professional Registration with ECSA as Pr Eng
•  Minimum 8 years of professional experience in transportation infrastructure with a strong background in geometric design
•  Knowledge of the commercial aspects of project management
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•  Ability to effectively write reports
•  Courteous and business orientated manners when communicating with stakeholders to foster and promote good working relations
•  Co-operative and flexible work style to work in a team environment
•  Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
•  Ability to make technical decisions which are outcome driven
