    Senior Human Capital Business Partner (Parktown)

    Role Objectives:

    • The Senior HC Business Partner delivers a comprehensive range of human resources services in consultation with the business unit needs and in support of the people strategy.  The HC Business Partner works as a partner to business through the selection and deployment of the appropriate human resource actions incorporating the roles of strategic partnering, operations management, employee mediation and emergency response.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform the role of strategic partner to the assigned business unit through integrating the people strategy and business strategy and through;
    • Effective implementation of talent management and succession practices
    • Talent attraction, identification, development and retention
    • Interpreting and responding to HR Metrics
    • Reviewing and redesigning organizational structure
    • Proactive interpretation of business priorities and the development of HR plans to address to support the business unit
    • Manage and facilitate change management initiatives in support of the business unit change
    • Integration of all HR practices in support of the people strategy and business strategy
    • Provide HR operational management support through the following activities:
    • Collaborate with and support line managers in the implementation of talent management practices inclusive of forecasting and planning business talent pipeline requirements, talent mapping and review, career and talent pool development, and succession planning practices
    • Conduct job analysis to develop and define comprehensive job profiles for each role within the organization
    • Evaluate jobs in conjunction with the relevant line manager as well as the Remuneration & Benefits Manager, utilizing the appropriate and approved processes and systems
    • Drive the recruitment and selection process internally and externally utilizing the appropriate and approved processes and resources to meet the manpower, equity and talent requirements of the organization
    • Facilitate the appropriate on-boarding and induction process for all new employees with the aim of the early engagement of new starters as well as smooth integration into the new business environment
    • Support continuous adherence to the performance management cycle by proactively communicating performance contracting and review periods.
    • Manage sound employee relations by advising on and leading the implementation of effective disciplinary, grievance, restructuring, incapacity, mediation and conflict resolution activities
    • Build sound business relationships with key internal and external stakeholders through providing effective advisory services, accessibility and on-time quality service
    • Continuously live, promote and act as custodian of the Hollard Way and the Hollard Purpose where required, participate in and/or lead HC Projects

    Required Knowledge and Experience    

    • Minimum 10 years’ HC experience essential, or which at least 5 years should have been spent at a consultant/HC Business Partner level
    • A track record of success in HC Business Partnering within the Short-Term Insurance space, Distribution channel.
    • Sound working knowledge of relevant HC legislation: BCEA, LRA, EEA, etc.
    • Change Management processes
    • Job evaluations principles
    • Remuneration and benefits practices
    • Talent management and succession practices
    • Employee relations
    • General business acumen
    • Systems: S-cubed
    • Strong in excel (dashboard, Vlookup, pivots)
    • Strong in Reproting (Word, PowerPoint etc.)

    Educational Requirements    

    • Matric essential
    • Degree or Diploma with 8 to 10 years related experience or qualified by extensive experience
