    The Oceana group is home to five major divisions namely: Lucky Star Marketing, Lucky Star Operations, Daybrook Fisheries, Blue Continent Products, as well as Commercial Cold Storage (CCS). Commercial Cold Storage seeks to employ an experienced Senior HR Officer to provide HR services that will enhance the achievement of the Division's overall goals and objectives and to provide general HR service to all staff. The successful incumbent will be based in Gauteng and support the City Deep, Midrand and Walvis Bay depots.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Recruitment and Selection
    • Support Talent Acquisition with recruitment needs and establishing seamless candidate experience
    • Prepare Role Profiles
    • Post vacancies
    • Manage the hiring process for Grades A - C
    • Assist in the identification and selection process of suitable candidates
    • Provide subject matter expertise to Line Managers regarding selection procedures
    • Ensure that the Division recruits in line with its EE Plan
    • Conducting and setting up interviews
    • Arranging psychometric assessments and advising line managers
    • New Starter documentation prepared
    • Create and implement effective onboarding plans

    Training and Development

    • Assist in the formulation and submission of the Division's WSP and ATR
    • Analyse competency gaps within the division
    • Submit annual training needs analysis (TNA) to L&D
    • Ensure that training, as per the TNA, is completed within the FY
    • Training expenditure controlled
    • Assist L&D to achieve Group training targets
    • Assist with future training planning, budgeting and related support

    Industrial Relations

    • Responsible for employee relations, provides support and counsel on issues that may arise
    • Co-ordinate and participate in all Divisional disciplinary hearings
    • Provide counselling on policies and procedures
    • Handling of staff grievances
    • Represent Divisional cases at CCMA
    • Compile monthly IR stats
    • Conduct corrective counselling
    • Co-ordinate Employment Equity meetings and ensures its proper functioning and management of its administration
    • Input into Management reports on Employment Equity progress and labour issues
    • Pro-actively involved in drafting and updating divisional policies and procedures

    HR Administration

    • Execute HR policies and procedures
    • Manage claims and complaints regarding to WCA, UIF and disability claims
    • Manage leave effectively
    • Manage all audits pertaining to HR
    • Salary inputs prepared timeously and accurately for
    • Personnel files managed
    • Monthly HR reporting
    • Maintain employee master data and records
    • Handling of all staff related queries, including employee benefits
    • Conduct exit Interviews
    • Assist in the Performance Management process
    • Assist in the Talent Management process
    • Drive Employee Wellness initiatives
    • Attendance and representation at various forums, both Divisional and Group

    Stakeholder Engagement

    • Be the trusted advisor for internal and external stakeholders
    • Provide expert guidance
    • Make recommendations to optimise organisational effectiveness
    • Partner with relevant stakeholders on culture and employee engagement initiatives

    Projects

    • Undertake relevant projects associated with the role

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • 3-year HR Degree or Diploma
    • 3 to 7 years Human Resources experience

    Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
