Senior Interior Designer at JLL

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Interior Designer to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage complex design projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities:

• Outline client design briefs, ensuring a clear understanding of project requirements and objectives.
• Create detailed space planning layouts that optimize functionality and aesthetics.
• Conceptualize and sketch innovative design concepts that align with client needs and project goals.
• Develop design concepts into comprehensive and approved schemes, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
• Select and specify appropriate materials and furniture, balancing quality, aesthetics, and budget considerations.
• Adhere to project budgets, providing cost-effective solutions without compromising design integrity.
• Source materials and products included in plans, maintaining relationships with suppliers and staying updated on market trends.
• Create compelling 'mood boards' to effectively communicate design vision to clients and team members.
• Utilize advanced computer applications in the design process, including CAD software and 3D modeling tools.
• Produce accurate technical drawings and develop them into detailed construction drawings for implementation.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall growth of the design team.
• Stay current with industry trends, sustainable design practices, and local building codes and regulations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial and/or high-end residential interior design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other relevant design software.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of South African building codes and regulations.
• SACAP registration preferred.
