Matric certificate plus an LLM Degree at National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 9 as recognised by South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
Five (5) years post qualification experience with a minimum of three (3) years in supervisory/management of research.
Excellent analytical and conceptual skills and be well-versed in both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, interpretation and report writing.
Experience working on and delivering research projects.
Proven capability in working with a variety of research methodologies.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Identify legal policy research focus areas
Examining any proposed legislation, including subordinate legislation, or proposed policy of the Government that the Regulator considers may affect the protection of the personal information of data subjects, and reporting to the government the results of that examination.
Coordinate and manage drafting of policy guidelines and the monitoring and evaluation of policy impact.
Develop and manage the drafting of relevant research tools, taking into consideration adopted methodologies.
Collect and analyse the data and information relating to technological trends, electronic platforms and digital media.
Coordination and management of desktop research studies or tasks.
Manage the conduct of legal and policy reviews through the development of policy briefs and position papers.
Provide general advice on research within the Regulator and the stakeholders in line with correct research protocols.
Conduct research relating to the implementation of the provisions of POPIA and PAIA.
Conduct research to enquire into any matter including legislation, common law, practice, and procedure related to POPIA and or PAIA.
Prepare and present research report findings for tabling at organisational governance structures.
Providing necessary legal research support to the Enforcement Committee.
