Senior Manager (Bus Technical Services) at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas

• Defines and aligns the immediate, short and medium term objectives/plans associated with the Bus Technical Services Department.
• Manages outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the Department.
• Prepares capital/operating estimates and controls expenditure against the approved budget allocations.
• Manages the process of interpreting, understanding, and aligning the Bus Fleet design to improve performance and utilization efficiencies.
• Directs the process of standardizing the bus fleet.
• Controls the performance obligations provided for in a diverse range of contracts that relate to the technical requirements (mechanical, bodywork and general dimensions).
• Disseminates functional information on the immediate, short and long term objectives and current applications and constraints.
• Manages administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the functionality.

Essential Requirements

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in Logistics Management or Fleet management or Transport management or a related and equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 8 years relevant experience of which 2 years must be at management level.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Logistics management or Fleet Management or Transport Management or a related and equivalent qualification.
• 9 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a management level.
