Senior Manager: Pan Africa Trade and Working Capital Product Governance at Absa

Job Summary

• The Product Governance team in Trade and Working Capital will be responsible for the delivery and maintenance of a Pan Africa Trade Product Governance Framework ensuring alignment to regulatory requirements and internal policies whilst balancing the growth ambition of the business. This is to ensure the business is able to continue to deliver double-digit growth within the required risk appetite of the business and over bank for both Trade Finance and Domestic Short Term Finance product sets.

Job Description

In this role you be responsible for:

• Delivering implementing and maintaining a ‘fit for purpose’ trade product governance framework aligned to regulatory requirements, internal policies and alignment to industry standards (SWIFT, ICC, IFRS, etc.)
• Together with Product Owners, ensure all Trade ad Domestic Short Term Finance products are “fit for purpose” (tax, legal, processing, technology, sales, regulatory, etc.)
• Proactively address shortcomings and regulatory changes to ensure product integrity and good customer outcomes is maintained.
• Ensuring there are proper internal audit procedures and the timely resolution of all audit findings together with the Chief control office
• Managing key risks through an inclusive governance framework to keep key stakeholders accountable
• Ensuring that all key risks are allocated to responsible individuals and that they are managed and reported on through the governance framework
• Ensuring that the team understands all compliance requirements and that all regulatory requirements are adhered to
• Ensuring that the trade product governance framework applicable to the business is documented and distributed to the Sales, Product and Operational teams for implementation and embedment in their processes
• Managing key risks through an inclusive governance framework to keep key stakeholders accountable
• During scheduled audits and management assurance reviews, ensure that all information required by the auditors are provided timorously.

• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
