Key Responsibility Areas

• Plans and manages projects involving the implementation of hardware, system software, database resources, as well as integration between platforms.
• Provides technical consultation and support for the computing environment.
• Manages hardware, system software and database security and access.
• Defines policies, procedures, standards as well as develops and maintains strategic plans for the Branch.
• Provides technical leadership in all aspects of corporate computing, including, database management, systems software management, configuration management, asset management and productivity tools.
• Plans, leads, organises and directs operations of data centres.
• Plans, leads, organises and directs enterprise storage management across the Council.
• Ensures disaster recovery plan works.
• Provides technical leadership in all aspects of corporate computing.
• Manages the Branch budget.
• Manages staff through goal setting and performance management.

Essential Requirements

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 7 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a management level.

Preferred Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
• 8 Years relevant experience of which 4 years must be at a management level.
