    Senior Media Proposition Manager – Gig Retail (Cape Town)

    About the role

    • As a Media Proposition Manager at Smollan, you will be instrumental in delivering and evolving innovative media channels across retailers, driving exciting new media launches that span both physical and digital stores. You will be responsible for commercializing new media inventory, collaborating with internal teams and retail media partners to maximize channel potential, deliver measurable business results, and create a unified approach to retail media across all customer touchpoints.

    Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

    • Media Channel Management: Hands-on day-to-day management of new retail media channels, leading the delivery, planning, and reporting of innovative media solutions across digital and physical touchpoints.
    • Innovation Incubation: Translate strategic visions into a comprehensive media roadmap that bridges digital and in-store channels, identifying, testing, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance customer experience and drive commercial uplift.
    • Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with 3rd party tech vendors, store installation teams, e-commerce, and store operations to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing operational excellence.
    • Market Research: Stay abreast of emerging digital and store media trends, tools, and best practices to identify new opportunities, gather insights, and conduct competitor reviews to inform product development strategy.
    • Performance Optimisation: Advocate for a customer-focused approach to product development, utilizing commercial and campaign performance data, and qualitative feedback to continually recommend improvements.
    • Project Management: Plan and oversee the practical implementation of in-store and digital media projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specification, with a strong focus on operational excellence.
    • Client Management: Work closely with the core and e-commerce teams to measure and report on campaign and channel performance, manage day-to-day relationships with stakeholders, and support the sales team.

    Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Degree Level Qualification

    Minimum Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience in a retailer, media-owner, agency, or ad tech media role.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Solid understanding of the retail media landscape in both the physical and digital store.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Excellent stakeholder management abilities
