Senior Meter Reading Controller at eThekwini Municipality

Key Responsibility Areas:

• Supervises and monitors time management, work schedules, work output, training and development of staff and subordinates and ensures monthly staff meetings are held.
• Updates staff on new information and progress.
• Undertakes administrative duties in order to ensure that the administrative process support the Technical operations.
• Promotes safety and accident prevention in the workplace in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
• Manages the supervising and monitoring of work undertaken by contractors and certification of invoices for payment.
• Undertakes technical duties in order to effectively manage and control the Water Meter Reading operation.
• Ensures adherance to all financial processes as guided by the Credit Control Policy, Water ByLaws, 
• Water Policy and Tariffs, and other related Policies and Acts.
• Establishes good housekeeping safety procedures as per the Appointment in terms of the Health and 
• Safety Act and Regulations (85 of 1993) at the premises and on site and the implementation thereof.
• Ensures the safekeeping and accountability of all Council Assets within the Section.
• Deputises for the Senior Manager as and when required.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Financial field.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 3 Years relevant experience.
• Computer Literacy.

Preferred Requirements:

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in the Finance field.
• 4 Years relevant experience.
