BSc/B degree/National Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering
Eligibility for professional registration with ECSA would be advantageous
At least five (5) years’ appropriate post-qualification technical and managerial experience in the management of roads and stormwater infrastructure as well as managing professional staff
Willingness to work after hours, including weekends and on cell phone contact 24/7
Willingness to work in any of the eight (8) Roads and Stormwater geographical Districts
A valid driver’s licence.
Key performance areas:
Manage team of professionals and operations of a district or head office
Manage a team of professionals and operations of a district or head office
Provide input for the compilation and prioritisation of the operational and capital budget for maintenance and rehabilitation of roads, stormwater, lane markings, signs, street furniture, parking areas, rivers, fences, guardrails and all services ancillary to roads and stormwater
Manage the implementation of maintenance and rehabilitation programmes in line with approved budget allocations and prioritisation
Manage the implementation of capital projects
Provide input into development applications and engineering designs
Manage the issuing of wayleaves and permits to service authorities and contractors
Provide technical input into term tenders for goods and services
Liaise with depots, contractors and professionals to ensure maintenance programmes and technical standards are complied with.
