    Senior Professional Officer - Traffic Engineering Event and Incident Management

    Requirements

    • BTech or First Degree in the Transport Engineering field
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in the Traffic and Transportation,
    • Transport Operations, Transport Incident Management or Event
    • Transportation fields
    • Good computer literacy skills
    • Staff management experience
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence
    • Willingness twork at any location within the City of Cape Town,
    • outside of normal working hours, including weekends when required
    • Must be independently mobile, including all-terrain walking for
    • visual inspections and assessments
    • Registration with ECSA would be advantageous

    Key Performance Areas

    • Manage staff within the Event and Incident Management section
    • Communication and Liaison: Represent the Council at meetingsnwith event organisers, members of the public and other government and Council departments, and regular communication with same Road Incident Management: development, planning, maintenance, operations and expansion
    • Freeway and Arterial Management Operations
    • Event Transport Planning, Management, Facilitation and Promotion
    • Lead or draft and oversee the implementation of Event Transport
    • Management Plans
    • Events inventory management
    • Financial Management
    • Assist with budget planning, control and reporting
    • Manage capital projects
    • Management of contracts in accordance with the Contract
    • Management Framework (CMF) of the City:
    • Preparation of Tender documentation
    • Management, administration and review of contracts and projects
