    Senior Research Manager, Prime Video Africa

    In this role you will develop, develop a strong understanding of the Prime Video Africa business to deliver Africa customer insights that support Prime Video worldwide leadership with short & long-term strategic decision-making across all parts of the organization. The role will conduct both direct customer research and manage external agencies to perform qualitative and quantitative customer research to deliver data-driven insights and recommendations to Prime Video worldwide leadership. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for Movies & TV, deep knowledge of South African and Nigerian marketplaces, and a track record of delivering successful large-scale customer research strategies.

    Success in this role requires the ability to recommend holistic customer-centric research strategies based on local marketplace expertise, and a passion for big, strategic thinking combined with deep analytics.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Support Prime Video leadership via small and large research initiatives to drive customer obsession throughout the Prime Video Africa business. This includes but is not limited to customer research such as usage and attitudinal studies, brand tracking, creative asset testing as well as providing insights into the overall streaming and entertainment category.
    • Deliver on aligned business needs from leadership through designing research utilizing mixed-method practices (creation of surveys, interviews, or other data collection instruments).
    • Align with leadership, execute on assigned research programs, supervise self-service tools and deliver deep learning to gain actionable insights from current and potential customers.
    • Provide objective recommendations to Prime Video leadership based on in-depth understanding and analysis of customer and environmental information.
    • Innovate with new methodologies, processes and tools to continually improve the research team’s ability to impact change across the organization.
    • Effectively manage internal and external partners to ensure research projects are delivered in a cost efficient, timely and robust manner.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Multiple years of professional non-internship marketing research experience.
    • Experience working with large cross-functional teams and external partners.
    • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
    • Track record of combining data analysis and high judgement to deliver results.
    • Experience presenting metrics and progress up to VP (or equivalent) level.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Confident communicator (verbal and written).
    • Track record of succeeding in fast-paced environments.
    • Experience working in TV & Film, entertainment and new platforms.
    • Experience working in South Africa and/or Nigeria in a nascent business.
    • Ability to think strategically and operationally, delivering results today while proposing and leading future direction.
